A hotel for the young, the young at heart and the heartily old: that is, everybody. And not just for everybody, but for all of the time: a hotel for all seasons. The Bolfenk Hotel should suit just about anyone who wants to exhaust themselves during the day, and sleep the sleep of champions (or possibly champignons) at night.
Situated on top of a small mountain next to the city of Maribor, the Bolfenk complex comprises a hotel, a series of bijoux apartment houses and more activities than you could shake a booty at. Furthermore, there are loads of skillfull, helpful staff on hand to take you, your kids or your parents on a mini-adventure. Or a big one. You could, of course, relax too.

The rooms are, of course, mostly pine, furnished simply - but above all, are comfortable.

Obviously, if you're staying in the self-catering apartments, you'll only yourself to blame or praise for the standard of cuisine. Then again, you might want to forgo the pleasures of holiday cooking, and take yourself off to the Bolfenk Hotel restaurant. Good move, as they serve good, nutritious alpine food. Same for you guys staying at the hotel, natch.

Where to start? Just take a look at these pictures and take it from there:
Specialist menus, training programmes, football ground, high-altitude training.
You can go on an arranged visit to the Meranovo vineyard down in the valley. Here you will be plied with some of the excellent local wines - great for washing down some of the excellent local produce.
Slovene, English, German, Italian

Children of all ages - a cliché, but hey, who cares?
Pohorje is blessed with four of those things we see very little of in Britian... and they all happen largely when expected: seasons. Hot, sunny summers; misty autumns; snowy winters and the alpine flowers springing forth after that. Then it all happens again. Magical, eh?
Bolfenk is open all year -
stay as long as you can afford.
This is not the place for suits
and high heels - shorts, T shirts, sturdy shoes or boots,
something warm for the evenings and something waterproof
in case it rains, is best. A bit more than that in the winter. OK, a lot more.
