Lake Bled

OUR VIEW

The Kompas is the little sister hotel to our lovely Lovec. We say 'little', as it is situated a little further away from the lake (although you can still have a lake view room), has fewer rooms and is a little more affordable. However, it does share the same standards as its sibling - indeed, we think their staff are the best in Bled town.

There is a covered swimming pool next to the terrace and a sauna in the hotel.

ACCOMMODATION
There are 95 double/twin rooms, some with lake view (please ask when you make your booking), all of which are pleasantly and comfortably furnished. There are also 12 suites - good for a small family... or if you just want to stretch out.

THE RESTAURANT
The hotel restaurant can best be described as 'Slovene/European' - good traditional Alpine fare and a few lighter dishes.
As you can see from the pictures above, the patisserie is outstanding, and you really should try the local delicacy Kremne rezine (cream cake - yum).
There is also a pub down at the Lovec, which has tables outside on the patio in the summer: great for kicking back and gazing across the lake.

WORKING UP AN APPETITE
Lake BledGo hiking. Around the lake, or walking trails lead you up over mountain passes to alpine pastures or along river valleys to hidden waterfalls.
Fishing. A permit will cost around £75 a day, which can be arranged for you.
Golf. There is an excellent golf club nearby.
Driving to Lake Bohinj (larger and more primeval than Bled), Ljubljana… or just about anywhere in Slovenia: allow an hour to get you just about anywhere… up to two to get you anywhere else.
Water Sports: White water rafting and kayaking can be arranged from a number of expert companies - charges are around £25.

CONFERENCE / FUNCTION FACILITIES
The Kompas has fiveconference rooms that will seat between 50 and 150 people.
