Very good restaurants
Excellent business facilities
OUR VIEW
The Mons is a prestigious and
exciting new hotel, designed by one of Slovenia's (and Europe's) leading
architects, Boris Podrecca.
The guest rooms are cooly modern and very comfortable
- the double beds are huge and extremely snooze-inducing.
On closing the window, the air conditioning kicks in
quietly and smoothly - you'll hardly know it's there. From simple rooms to large
suites, the Mons offers accommodation equal to the best
you'll find in any major city. There
is a fine restaurant and a very large cafeteria, serving
very good, but faster, food. Business people are well-served
with top-class conference rooms and facilities. The
Mons sits near to Ljubljana's ring road and is therefore
perfectly placed for access to the city (it'll take
no more than 15 minutes to get into the heart of the
city).
ACCOMMODATION As well as offering the cream
of modern design and facilities, the rooms are furnished
with the guest's comfort in mind: you'll want to stay
in bed just a bit longer than you should. There are
singles (1 + 1), doubles, a junior suite and large suites
available. Each room has it's own specialy commissioned
artwork.
THE RESTAURANTS The Mons has a very good restaurant,
featuring modern Slovenian dishes, plus a large self-service
cafeteria which is a zillion times better than your
average caff.
THINGS TO DO Walking around Ljubljana -
one of the world's most walkable cities - where you
will find unique examples of Plečnik's architecture,
two beautiful rivers, countless bars and world-class
restaurants, the beautiful Tivoli gardens... the list
is much too long to feature here.
Use one of the Mons bicycles
to explore the city or the surrounding countryside.
Eating - Ljubljana has
some excellent restaurants - see the Dining
and Wining pages. Driving -
although Ljubljana is such a small city, a hire car
will give you access to so much more - Postojna caves,
the pretty town of Škofia Loka, the Karst region, Lakes Bled and Bohinj... or just driving through Europe's
prettiest country - all of these are just an hour or
so's drive away. Indeed, another half hour will get
you to Piran by the sea, the mountains or even Croatia. Eating at Zemono -
one of Europe's great restaurants - about an hour away
by car. Ljubljana also has some excellent restaurants,
which we'll detail for you when you book through us. Shopping -
just like any European city, Ljubljana is full of designer
shops, clothes shops, trinket shops. Shops.
Museums, galleries and, of course, Ljubljana castle
are all very good.
Watch a movie
at the Kolosej - a truly huge cinema complex on the
edge of town. All foreign movies shown in Slovenia are
subtitled, so you can hear the original language.
A full day trip can also be made to Dobrovo (for wine
lovers).

rooms which can be booked, and all feature the latest
facilities.
