OK, I've seen enough - show me the full hotel list!
Hvala hotel, KobaridHi Bob, Had a great time in Slovenia! Beautiful country, beautiful people! Staff at Hvala exceptional!!! Will definitely go again! Thanks for all your help
Jacqui Anderson
Hiša FrankoI would like to say a big thank you for pointing us in the direction of Hiša Franko. We had a great week there, despite some dreadful weather, which precluded some of our walking activities.
The hotel, and its staff were excellent, and the food some of the best we have had anywhere in Europe. The contrast between the West and the East of the Vogel range is quite marked considering the small geographical separation. I'm sure we will be renewing the aquaintance at some time soon, to continue our explorations while being feted by the food and wine at Hiša Franko!

Dobra VilaSlovenia is a truly wonderful country. Beautiful mountains, stunning countryside, beautful food and friendly people. It is a quiet country, though, so if hustle and bustle is your thing, you might want to look elsewhere, but for me at that ... perfect! As were Slovene Dream.
Thank you, Bob.

Dobra VilaThanks so much for finding Dobra Vila for us - it was one of the most memorable hotels we've stayed in and really made a huge difference to our holiday. We are looking forward to returning to it very much and will recommend you strongly to our friends. Have got your brochure, which is beautiful - and look forward very much to returning to Slovenia.
Gavin
Pristava LepenaWe all had a wonderful time in Slovenia and very much hope we will return. Pristava Lepena is a very special place and Silvia and Milan were so kind and helpful, as were all their staff. Everyone in the family found activities to suit them from the riding, tennis, walking and water activities, to the simpler pleasures of enjoying the scenery and wild flowers, paddling in the rivers, visiting the museums to learn something of the history of Slovenia and simply relaxing in the peace of the mountains. It was a great holiday for our family and all the travel arrangements fortunately went very smoothly!

Milan and Silvia at POristava LepenaJust a quick note to say how much we enjoyed our stay at Pristava Lepena.  It was fantastic, everything you said it would be! The hotel was superb and the country is so beautiful that we would recommend (and are recommending) it to everyone.

Kendov DvorecThe three hotels we stayed in during our visit [Belica, Kendov Dvorec, Pristava Lepena] were all very special and different from one another.
The food and wine was excellent and the quality of the local produce outstanding and very reasonably priced. Every meal we ate both at the hotel restaurants and local restaurants was delicious!
Slovenia as a whole is a beautiful country and we did not visit anywhere that wasn't well maintained, clean and breathtaking.
The people we met were all very friendly and helpful.
We had a really relaxing and enjoyable two weeks and we will definately be returning soon!

We had a fantastic holiday in Slovenia - Nebesa was fabulous - a MUST for anyone travelling to Slovenia!

Pristava LepenaDear Bob, I am now back from holiday and just wanted to say thank you for all your help and advice. Like you we fell hook, line and sinker for the Soča Valley, and particularly Pristava Lepena and were sad to leave Milan and Sylvia who made us so welcome. We didn't get great weather but we had a great time anyway and will return to explore more of Slovenia. The car train from Most na Soči near Tolmin to Bohinj was spectacular and great fun, especially the long tunnels in the dark.
Sumi Cannon
NebesaThe hotel was amazing, more of an "experience" than an hotel. We were disappointed with the weather, which affected most of Europe at the time, but took full advantage of the views and peace. Our photographs look more like postcards than holiday snaps. I would certainly recommend Nebesa and Slovene Dream to friends and family, and have already done so several times.
Overall, it was an excellent break after a few very hectic months... years... and we are likely to return to Nebesa for a shorter break in the future.

BelicaWe had a wonderful holiday, not even spoiled by torrential rain on arrival and on our first day! Slovenia really is a dream, and we all loved it and can't wait to return. The hotel [Belica] was very well appointed and the staff were unobtrusive so we just enjoyed ourselves! The pool was a bonus too. All round fantastic holiday!

Hisa FrankoHiša Franko was absolutely beautiful, the food was some of the best we had ever had, wine also amazing. Despite a few days bad weather we loved our holiday. And thank you for all your help and advice. Your website was a real find - so helpful - and also so helpful to speak to friendly people on the phone: I will be recommending Slovene Dream to others when we get home. Thank you!
Mairi Giles
The SočaThe Soča Valley was as beautiful as Bob & the brochure promised, especially when blessed by brilliant weather. I was impressed by the people and their newly won independence - see City Museum in Ljubljana. Slovene Dream were very flexible in the face of our need to change hotels earlier than planned. Hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating. Have recommended the country, the hotels we tried, and the Slovene Dream enterprise to friends already.

Pristava LepenaWe had the most wonderful, wonderful time. The hosts at the hotel were brilliant and friendly and were very accomodating. They arranged everything for us and were so nice and welcoming. The facilities at the hotel [Pristava Lepena] were fantastic and it was in some amazing scenery.
The area was equally great - being able to do activities nearby with no hassle at all - all handled and arranged for us! Bovec was very nice and the weather was fantastic.
Slovene Dream was helpful in answering any queries and booking was simple and hassle free. would definitely use them again/recommend their use to others.
what else can I say, it was all very straightforward to arrange, great value for money, great people where we stayed and a perfect mix of relaxation and excitement! Would recommended it to anyone and everyone!

NebesaNebesa was fantastic. Yes you are right about the weather but it didn't spoil our stay. If only we could find a place like that to have as a permanent holiday/retirement home. We're looking forward to our next visit, probably in the autumn.
Beverly
BelicaWhat a beautiful country, with many contrasting areas very close to each other, but all regarded with great pride by the Slovenians. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The food at Belica was excellent, and the hotel itself was wonderful, well situated within the rolling hills, and the pretty village of Medana. The previous night we ate at the restaurant of Hiša FrankoHisa Franko in Kobarid, and this must be one of the best restaurants ever, and is for sure worth making a detour.

I got the brochure in yesterday's post and read it from cover to cover. It is beautifully produced. I can honestly say that a holiday brochure has never spoken to me so directly before. I hope that the Easter break will be the start of a longer association.
Jack
I have to confess that after the first time Bob organised a trip for us to Slovenia, it was so lovely we've not wanted to go anywhere else! Anon.
LjubljanaThanks so much for your help in arranging our visit to Ljubliana we had a cracking time. What a beautiful city - chic little shops, restaurants that spill onto the pavement which meet the willow trees spilling into the river below. It may be small but the young student population make this a vibrant destination where it's also possible to relax. Free Wi-Fi connections (not only in the Royal Media) along the riverbank outside some cafes even mean it's possible to stay in touch with the office or surf the net for the next club or restaurant while sipping a coffee. In two days we visited four restaurants, seven bars, two nightclubs, and a wine tasting cellar! MuseumI can recommend Cafe Galeria as a trendy cocktail - late night bar playing some great (listenable) dance music mixed by live DJ. The nightclub Global (crowd of 18-45s) was great too - very international feel as oppose to the Bachus nightclub which had a very local Slovenian slant - most songs were in Slovene - we think anyway!! - and this attracted a much younger crowd 18-25s. The drinks in these places were very reasonable too (always of concern iin these places) ... about four pounds for a G&T and a bottle of beer. Entry was either free (Bachus) or $1000 SIT (Global) - both Fri night.

Royal MediaThe Royal Media Hotel was a techy's dream with real style. The Junior Suite's 100' screen had me wondering if I should book up for the World Cup. It would be possible to lose a day in one's room just flicking through the guide to the city, promo videos, and music videos, along with the news channels. If I was being picky I would say there were not enough music videos to choose from (10 or 12) and the Internet didn't load properly on the big screen (one option the hotel sells itself on). I tried to use the free IP phone calls offered from the room - to the UK - but the phone wouldn't connect and I got an engaged tone - even when I called my own home number. [We have passed on these comments to the Royal Media and they are looking into the problem - Ed.
August 2006 update: all fixed - Ed.] But these are small criticisms - overall the room was clean, service good, and the bed was brilliantly comfortable and big!! We spent an hour in the casino downstairs (just because it was there and we are great explorers!) which was fine and bigger than I had expected. Minimum bets of 1 euro on roulette and 5 euro for Blackjack meant you didn't have to wager much to enjoy a flutter.

ŠpajzaFinally, I can make one recommendation above the destination in general. Something which stood out for me as exceptional. The Spajza Restuarant on Gornji Trg (28) is fantastic. Great locals wines, beautifully presented food, and the best service I have had this year (real service from people who know about the  menu and wine without looking and can freely recommend from both to suit individuals tastes) made this one of the best meals I have ever enjoyed. We didn't look at the menu once.. and after aperitifs, starters (with glass of wine) main course (with new wine), desert - shared (with desert wine), and a local schnapps to finish off .. we estimated the bill would be somewhere around £100 - £120. It came to £60 plus a large tip!!

You probably know much of this and are sagely nodding your head Bob, but those were my impressions of a destination I can't wait to get back to.

So we look forward to getting in touch once again and planning our next trip with you.
NebesaNebesa was excellent, a superb place to stay, and the Soča valley was a great place for hill walking, even went most of the way along the valley up and behind the south side of Krn to 2,000m in the snow - Nebesa is as good as your website says! Patrick Skidmore
Pristava LepenaHad a great holiday at Pristava Lepena.  Sylvia and Milan could not do enough for us and together with all their staff were wonderful hosts. The food was to die for, the scenery spectacular, riding tuition excellent, and the "tennis court with a view" was very well used but only by us!  Despite all that activity we were seriously chilled out by the end of two weeks!
Pristava LepenaSlovenia is a truly wonderful country and Slovene Dream are the perfect holiday organisers. We stayed at Pristana Lepena, the people there are lovely very helpful and friendly, they even lent us walking sticks when we wanted to go on a big hike. The restaurant there is the best we tried in Slovenia, you just don't need to leave the accommodation at night. We'll definitely go back to Slovenia....can't wait!

Hotel LekWe had a superb five days in Slovenia; all the arrangements went smoothly. The Lek was very comfortable and we liked the pool. Thanks for your help and advice; we look forward to returning to slovenia - want to see the coast and the caves!

Vila ParkJana and Villa Park was one of the many highlights of our trip to Slovenia. A Beautiful country, lovely people and fantastic sea food (especially in Bovec). We will definitely be returning soon. Ljubljana was also a very pleasant suprise, not normally city people but we really enjoyed Ljubljana especially in the evening with a nice bottle of wine and a lovely meal watching the world go by.
Andy Clegg
Dobra VilaI have already recommended this hotel [Dobra Vila], and the local area, with great enthusiasm to several friends since I returned. It is wonderfully situated, with stunning views of the mountains all around, but very convenient for Bovec. The hotel itself is stylish, elegant and beautifully furnished; the bedrooms are a great pleasure to spend time - particularly if you get one with a balcony! - and the food and wine is very good indeed. The staff are good-humoured and very friendly and helpful. Given the standard of accommodation, food and service it is also very reasonably priced.
Gavin Phillipson
Kayaking on the SočaVery well organised and accomodation [Lieber and Pristava Lepena] good with the people being extremely helpful. Also for arranging sporting activities and the choice of people for doing activities - horse riding, white water rafting, kayaking and canyoning were extremely good and patient. Excellent.
Charles Bolton
Excellent from start to finish. We'll be back for more! Thanks very much for sourcing such great accommodation [Hiša Franko].
Paul Bishop
The Hvala familyExcellent holiday. Happy to recommend to friends and family.
Brochure was very good and humorous and I liked the personal touch. The booking process was excellent and advice helpful for first time visitors.
Hvala Hotel very good and ate there 4 nights as food so good and service brilliant - the room was good and friendly staff.
Enjoyed all the water sports on the Soča river and as it rained some days we just got wetter!
We will try and visit Slovenia again and use Slovene Dream.
Jane Wallbridge
Dobra VilaDobra Vila was fantastic. We were made to feel really welcome, despite having 2 kids in what is a very smart boutique hotel. On the last day our older daughter Leah was given a guided tour - and a bar of chocolate! - by the lovely hotel manager Andreja. I think that made her holiday.
Kath Gorman

Pristava LepenaSlovenia is a top country! We will be going back. Pristava Lepena was brilliant - friendly, helpful, food was excellent and plenty for us all to do.  Easy to do what we liked when we liked (and we crammed a fair bit in).
Gary Evans

Hisa FrankoYes we had a fantastic time and have been telling friends all about Slovenia and indeed Slovene Dream - thanks for all your guidance.
We loved Hiša Franko and Anna and Valter were very welcoming. Lovely large room and balcony and great atmosphere in the restaurant at night and great service. They always gave us ideas on what to do during the day and drew maps for us etc!
Helen Barnes

NebesaNebesa was unbelievable. It took us several hours of simply walking around the place, soaking up the top-class accommodation, the magnificent views, the facilities (swimming pool, gymnasium, dining, sauna) - our mouths open in amazement - we were silent, not able to put our thoughts into words that made any sense.

And the hosts were lovely too. We cannot wait to return, hopefully with friends or other family members.

I have never been to a place before that so exceeded expectations.
Neil Watson
SloveniaAm 100% fan of Slovinia and will go back... and use Slovene Dream... I think you are real experts and have chosen the hotels with real care.
Marina
Hisa FrankoHisa Franko was lovely. Food was fantastic (though not so good for a repeat visit for a vegetarian, as there was no choice of dishes). Wine was even better, with expert service to help us choose the best wine to go with our food. Service was top quality, and Valter was very kind and helpful in recommending nearby restaurants and water-sporting organisations. And Ana makes the best eggs with herbs. The room was just perfect, and we pretended that we were rich for a short time and had jacuzzis every day.

NebesaWhen we arrived at Nebesa, Jane and I weren't talking to each other. Not because we'd had an argument or anything, just that we were walking around the place for a couple of hours speachless at how lovely it was - we couldn't say anything, just had our jaws dropped.
Can't wait to go again.
How's the business going? Well, I hope
Neil

Many thanks for all your suggestions which were spot on - we would never have heard of Nebesa (magic indeed) or visited Korabid and Hisa Franko otherwise - everything went very smoothly and Katja and Bojan were just wonderful - turning up with home made butter and jam, cherries and cutting us prsut and local cheese. We had the tasting menu at Hisa Franko which was a real experience and worth the £100+.

Tpli Val restaurant at HvalaWe thoroughly enjoyed our weekend in Slovenia. The hotel [Hvala] was perfectly adequate, food delicious and excellent service. Local wine good too! Everyone was very helpful and spoke English to us whenever they could.

We arranged a trip to Slovenia for the Old Salvatorians footy team:
The Slovene Dream CupBob, the tour went very well and although the weather was a "dampener" we managed to come through it safe and well! I'd be happy to be a reference for both your company and the City Hotel if needed. Thank you very much for your part in organising a most successful weekend.
Eddy Dempsey
LovecWe had a fantastic first skiing holiday in Slovenia - the accommodation [Hotel Lek] was very good and the country is certainly worth visiting - we were also impressed with the helpful and prompt service provided by Slovene Dream - which included a courtesy call to the hotel whilst we were there.
Stephen Hartrick
Just a quick line to say thankyou very much for sorting out the hotel. It was perfect and I have to admit I was surprised at the friendly reception we had from all the locals. Celje itself was beautiful, very clean and very friendly. I would have no hesitation in recommending anyone to visit Slovenia. Some of the lot I work with go skiing and I have told them to look up your web site as Slovenia must be a well kept secret. Once again thanks very much.
Colin McMeekin
MIlan and Silvia at Pristava LepenaJust to say thanks for arranging things in Slovenia again. Silvia and her husband at Pristava Lepena were wonderfully kind and generous, as always - and this time I was able to spend a couple of hours talking with Silvia, and got to know her a little. I feel I've made a friend -- they really are fab people.

This time we had time to go to Lake Bohinj on the car-train - what an experience! It was really otherworldly. the lake itself was magnificent - we took the Boat Tour, and learned a lot. Wouldn't mind staying near Bohinj at a future time.

Anyway, thanks again. As a result of our time there, Benedict and I are taking up archery! Hope the summer's been good to you and Darinka.
Sophia Dunn
Pristava LepenaHello Bob - just a quick note to say that everything you said about Nebesa was true: we did cry before we left. What's more, Katja and Bojan were the perfect hosts and the restaurants in Kobarid were wonderful. Thank you for helping us recharge our batteries.
Mark and Sophia
Pristava LepenaThank you so much for arranging our wedding at Pristava Lepena: ensuring that 80 thesps and their off-spring had the time of their lives must have been difficult, but you pulled it off. Also, please send our regards to Milan and Silvia - they did so much to make sure our day was very special.
