OK, I've seen enough - show me the full hotel list!
Customer comments:
Well, what a trip! We could have brought back everyone we dealt with in our suitcase, if only we'd had the room! The Slovenes are the most polite people you'd ever meet, nothing was ever too much trouble. Antiq Hotel, LjubljanaThe Antiq hotel was wonderful and everything else was fab. And as for Pri Danilu. Well. A lunch that lasted 4 hours - I'd never have believed it. Our waiter (didn't get his name unfortunately) was knowledgeable to the extreme, explaining the provenence of all the wines, and exactly what each dish was and the ingredients in it that made it so special. This was one of those meals that stays with you forever.

Slovenia?, everyone said. Why? Well, we can't wait to go back, and this time we might even take the children! But we're definitely keeping this gem of a country a secret! We're not sharing this one!

So Bob and the team at Slovene Dream, thank you for making our holiday a dream, and I think my husband has had a birthday he'll never forget.
Claire & Ali Gale

We have visited many beautiful countries in our time and had decided that if we had a little spare cash we would buy a property on the Amalfi Coast... and then we visited Slovenia.
Both my husband at I were in awe of the magnificent scenery: the lakes, mountains and meadows were breathtaking.

The view from TopliceWe picked up the car from Avis rental at Ljubljana airport and headed to our first hotel located not far from the shore of Lake Bohinj. On the way we passed through Bled, stopping at the Grand Hotel Toplice to have coffee and a slice of Kremna Rezina and take in the view - as you had suggested. What a perfect introduction to the country.

Following your directions we arrived at Vila ParkVila Park and were greeted by Jana who showed us to our room on the top floor.
The hotel was was immaculate in every way and in a very pretty location close next to the trout steam: idylic. We spent a few hours the next again day reading there, drinking G&Ts and marvelling at the surroundings.

I am also proud to say that I plucked up the courage to get on the cable car which takes you to the top of Mount Vogel. The panorama from the top is amazing and even my husband agrees; as a mountaineer he has climbed many peaks world wide and even he was impressed.
We had a few glasses of wine at one of the summit alpine bars, the one renouned for the quality of it's wild boar, before heading back down to earth.
That afternoon we hired a rowing boat and spent a leisurely afternoon floating in the middle of the lake basking in the sunshine.

We had a wonderful few days before moving on to Nebesa.

NebesaThis journey was spectacular: we drove to the north through the Triglav National Park up to Kranjska Gora and stopping at the Hotel Kompas for lunch. We then drove up and over the snaking route that takes you through the Alps to Livek and Nebesa. We found ourselves stopping every five minutes to admire the scenery and take photographs to prove to the folks back home that our stories of the beauty of the Slovenian landscape were true and not just a follies of our imaginations.
Well what can I say just when we thought that things couldn't get any better we arrived at the Nebesa.
We were given a lovely welcome by Katja and the two Newfoundland doggies and shown around our chalet and the communal accomodation.

The words I have used to describe the place since have included, spectacular, spiritual, unique. This environment inspires calmness and wellbeing.
We sat out on the balcony looking down into the Soča Valley and across to the slopes opposite dotted with little villages - the domes of their churches glinting in the sunshine and the peel of their bells wafting into audible range.

The communal wine cellar was delightful, the house red and white wines were complimentary (I recommend the white which was similar to a Chardonnay with a definite hint of melon)
The other wines on offer were available at trade price and an honesty box was used for you to drop your money in for any bottle you chose from owner's collection.
As well as wine in the cellar there was a joint of the finest cured ham and a few fine mature chesses for the resident's delectation, all complimentary of course... nothing but the best at Nebesa... which of course as Bob had told me meant heaven... and wasn't that name appropriate.

All too soon our time here had come to an end and we set out travelling south east through the rolling countryside of Dolenjska toward Otočec for our final few nights staying at Šeruga.

ŠerugaŠeruga was contradictory to what we had expected, a working farm it was... but there was no sound of tractors at dawn or cows being paraded up and down for milking. But instead of that the farm had a feel of tranquility. We did see Lili the farmer's wife feed the goats, and the trout in the little stream that runs in front of the resident's accommodation.
The guest rooms are located in an old independant chalet style house located across the courtyard from the main farm. The rooms are very pretty and quaint with
beamed ceilings, sturdy furniture and wooden shutters on the windows with love heart shapes carved out of them. After a few hours I wanted to plait my hair and change my name to Heidi.

The food here was delicious, true home fare but what else could we expect as it was made and served by Lili and her daughter Eva: everything was locally sourced and organic. What a fitting end to a fabulous holiday.

Thanks to Slovene Dream for all the help and advice: it proved invaluable and I have been extolling the virtues of your company since our return.
[Thank you Ida: you are an angel - Bob]

Hiša FrankoHiša Franko was unique and in a beautiful setting. We really enjoyed travelling around Slovenia. The people were friendly and helpful. Ljubljana was also beautiful. Hotel Antiq was well situated near the old part of the city. The accommodation was good.
Kim Dodge
Hotel BohinjLake Bohinj was an amazing location and the break was exactly what we wanted, that is, to get away from it all. The hotel location was great & there was enough restaurants around to keep us happy at a fair price.
Chris Vance
LovecJust a quick note to say thanks for sorting out the two hotels for us in Slovenia (Lovec at Bled and Hvala at Kobarid). We had a great time.
Jon Tydeman
Dobra VilaThank you for your suggestions of the lovely Dobra Vila and Lovec. We had a fabulous and relaxing time in Slovenia. Dobra Vila was beautiful and very unique. The owners and staff were very friendly and really made us feel welcome, it was our favourite hotel. The food and wine was more expensive than we had anticipated so we only had dinner in the hotel one night, but it was probably the nicest meal of the entire holiday. I loved playing with all of the dogs! It was our one year anniversary whilst there and they made us a very tasty cake.
Hotel LovecBled was beautiful and the Lovec was nicely situated next to the lake. The Jacuzzi room was fab and had a good view. We had a lovely dinner in Okarinas next door. Rowing across the lake was fun. We didn't get round to doing any sports. The weather was glorious the whole time we were there.
Thanks again for all your help.
Krissy and Colin

Vila ParkWell my husband and I have fallen in love with Slovenia and can’t wait to go back. What a beautiful clean country and such friendly and helpful people. Almost all the people we met spoke English which made life a little easier for us. I think our next visit will be in the spring of 2009 – waterfalls should be quite spectacular after the winter snow.

We really liked Vila Park. Jana is the perfect hostess and nothing is too much trouble for her. We enjoyed the food so much on our first night that we ate at Vila Park every night and so did all the other Brits. We loved the area around Lake Bohinj and were glad you recommended instead of touristy Lake Bled (although it was also beautiful).
Margaret Bissett

Lovecslovenia was absolutely beautiful. all accomodation [Nebesa and Lovec] was first class for hospitality, cleaniness and relaxation.to the point that we are thinking of buying property.. maybe..
lake bled was our all time favourite
Claire Beattie
I know I'm preaching to the converted but Slovenia is a drop-dead gorgeous country; the scenery never ceases to amaze, the people are very friendly and helpful. Even the hospital was efficient! [I should think so, for something as serious as a wasp sting! - Ed.]
VitrancThe Vitranc was excellent and the staff were superb. The kids went paragliding and canyoning, we all went rafting; the trip to Postojna caves well timed (being as it absolutely poured down the whole day) and the Emerald River trip was just out of this world - the guides were superb, well informed and interesting; the Vrsic pass; the walk to the source of the Soca energetic and a bit scary if, like The Soča Riverme, you don't have a head for heights but well worth it; the breath-taking scenery as we followed the Soca, another rafting trip at Bovec, watching my 12-y/o daughter jump off a 12m bridge into the Soca, then making our way back to Bled via Lake Bohinj. Just the most remarkable day.
Richard Gibbs (second year)
Nebesanebesa and hiša franko were above outstanding -- experiences of a lifetime -- and we will definitely go back & recommend them to friends.

slovenia itself was great -- we will definitely recommend it & will return

Hiša Frankoservice from slovene dream worked very well -- would recommend you folks as well.
Marsha Roberts

NebesaHi Bob,
We had a lovely holiday – many thanks for your recommendations, which were both spot on.
Slovenia and both the hotels you recommended were excellent. Nebesa in particular was one of the best places I have ever stayed in. Wonderful mountains, vineyards, food and drink. We really enjoyed our week there, and would definitely return.
Marcia Hall

Hotel BohinjWe were extremely pleased with Hotel Bohinj especially the room, view, balcony etc and very much liked staying close to the lake. We really enjoyed the country, the people, the food, the scenery and went on some good walks. We were really pleased that we had taken your advice and hired a car, which gave us the freedom to travel round and see more.
Linda Blackett
Hotel BohinjSlovenia was wonderful and we were VERY grateful for Bob's advice to stay at Bohinj instead of Bled; Bohinj is a magical place and Bled much too touristy. We would definitely recommend Slovenia, Slovene Dream and the Hotel Bohinj to others.
Becky Poyntz
Hotel Hvala - very good restuarant.
LovecHotel Lovec - very well equipped hotel with a quality feel. The reception staff were excellent with one guy (forgot his name) very passionate about his hotel and country. He has done a dvd/tv promotion show of Slovenia which he is very keen to show you.It was well worth it and shows the country and what it has to offer.
Thumbs up for everything else. The country was well worth a visit and I hope to go back soon. All the places we visited we excellent with much more potential for walking/activities than we had time to do. The musuem in Kobarid was brilliant, very thought provoking.
Thank you very much for all your help and opinions in organising.
Andy Cooke
Hiša FrankoHiša Franko was terrific, we weren't asked to vacate our room for the Spanish Minister of the Economy, and we enjoyed great food, wine, sport and scenery. The staff were lovely there and at Otočec, which to be perfectly honest I didn't find all that shabby (the rooms being very similar to Ardencote Manor in Warwickshire) - mind you Otočechaving lived in both Italy and Greece we are perhaps slightly desensitised. Nevertheless they are refurbishing the castle in time for our wedding next year, and I only hope they aren't going to bump the prices up too much.

We did a lot of travelling and were really impressed by so much in Slovenia - the standards of hygiene (definitely not Italian, I'm so glad they've selected Germany as their role model in this and many other things); the friendliness of just about everyone we encountered; the food and natural beauty of the place.
Elizabeth Nutter
Pristava Lepena great. Lovely hosts fab scenery
Hilary Napier
Pristava LepenaWell done, we thought you did a brilliant job at choosing our accommodation! We particularly loved Šeruga and Pristava Lepena.
Avis turned out trumps after a phone call the day before we left saying they had no roof racks, and we wondered how we would fit in all our luggage. At the airport they gave us an upgrade to a bigger car for no extra cost and we fitted everything in and the car was great.
All in all a great holiday. We will definitely go back.
Jenny Gormley
Posestvo PuleBob,
We had an amazing time. All your recommendations were perfect. We took the car train - which was great fun to Nebesa.
All the hotels were fabulous [also Antiq, Pule Estate]. All providing the best service we have experienced. Absolutely world class!
Slovenia is a fantastic country - friendly people, amazing views, lots to do and great service.
We'll be back for sure and will also be recommending Slovene Dream to all our family and friends.
Thanks for everything.
Louise Bell
LovecThanks for organising my hotels at such short notice. The staff at the Lovec were fabulous and went out of their way to be helpful (even providing champers on a birthday). Their masseuse Visic was absolutely brilliant and a lovely chatty person.

HvalaHotel Hvala
is in a great location and very peaceful and overall we enjoyed our two night stay. We had a quiet room 208 at the back of the hotel. We had a great time trying out various sports on the River Soča with Top Extreme.
Thanks again for booking these rooms, best wishes Patricia
Hi Bob, What a great holiday we had!

HvalaKobarid was a great base for walking to suit our needs, maybe a little short on challenge for the 'serious' walker, although we did the 1,408m ascent to Matajur at 1,648m and into Italy, phew... steep! With more time we'd have travelled north for other walks too, so a great base for anyone, also with plenty of 'family' activities to keep everyone happy.

A little hustle and bustle in Kobarid town, to keep us city dwellers feeling we're not in total isolation, but without being noisy in any way at all... even the 6am clock wake up call was pleasantly relaxing!

The Hvala was a perfectly satisfactory hotel, with pleasant staff, room c/w balcony to rear, breakfast and wonderful food in the evening. Pity I'm not a 'fish' lover, but even that looked lovely too. Would certainly return there, like I said for using it as a base to get further afield.

Kendov DvorecKendov Dvorec, WOW... what can I say? Pat & I absolutely loved it, great place (fairy tale stuff), beautiful location, with valley and views simply an extension to the wonderful hotel grounds. Warning... hard hat if you sit under the shedding apple trees!

Staff, very, very, very hospitable, owners even walked us down to town festival the hour we arrived and introduced us to locals. Gregor and Bogdan in particular very attentive and knowledgable, fantastic English! Bedrooms beautiful, even though very little time spent inside. Food simply amazing... even tried the trout... I'm converted!

Still got some walking in (but we wouldn't say it was a base for such activities), but in general a very quiet place for total relaxation.

We thought it was just perfect, and wished we'd had the chance to stay a little longer... I'm sure if we had, that the locals are so hospitable we'd have even been invited to the wedding the Saturday we left!

Oh and finally, GREAT Slovenian wines!

We'll enjoy telling everyone of the place, our plans to return and of course 'Slovene Dreams' too!

Thanks again, Mark & Pat
NebesaNebesa was amazing both in terms of scenary and accomodation. The flexibity of being able to cook for ourselves but supplement our rations with all the lovely special treats that we found in our kitchen and in the main dining room/cellar was great. Our hosts had thought of absolutely everything and were extremely welcoming. We'd love to go back.
We also stayed a night at Vila Park near Lake Bohinj. It was comfortable and immaculate and breakfast was lovely.

Thank you. I am sure we willl be back!
Anne Middleton
NebesaWe had an absolutely fabulous time. The scenery was unimaginably beautiful. Slovenia is relaxing, fun and interesting. Definitely recommend the waterfall walk in Kobarid and Lake Bohinj (it's much better than Bled). The car train is really cool and much more relaxing than driving on windy-windey roads. We totally rate Nebesa - it was perfect and we will definitely return asap! Thanks for helping us find such a special place. Thanks for all your help, we would definitely book through you guys again.
Kate Copland
HvalaHvala was lovely (glad we went there second). Friendly, helpful & good facilities. Unfortunately the garden is being re-landscaped so was out of action. Great location and would certainly consider returning. Breakfasts were great, lots of choice and loads of fresh fruit.

We loved Slovenia. Absolutely beautiful. We had a great, active family holiday with our 12 & 15 year old sons. As you said, loads to do but everything wonderfully low key. Perfect! Will tell all our friends!
Helen Airdrie
VitrancDear all at Slovene Dream,
Thank you so much for a wonderful holiday and particularly for sorting out our car hire for us. it made our holiday.
Slovenia is every bit as wonderful as you said and we will certainly go back. We want to visit all 3 of the regions we went to this time [Vitranc, Hotel Bohinj, Šeruga] and stay much longer in Soča, which was spectacular.
Thanks for your brochure. We will be telling everyone about you.
Tim Dennis
Vila ParkVila Park was absolutely fantastic: beautiful location, great food, lovely hotel (liked the heated floors) and Jana is a great host.
Dobra Vila is beautiful and Andreja and Sebastijan run an excellent kitchen - also loved the scampering dogs!
Hiša FrankoHiša Franko perfect: beautiful decor, great staff and Ana is a truly gifted chef: luckily we didn't stay there for two weeks, as the food was too good.
As for the Soča valley - we did everything (all of which was better and cheaper than in New Zealand): paragliding, trail riding, hydro-speed, white water rafting...
Stephen Ebbet

Hiša FrankoHad to give you a complete thumbs up because of the entire trip.
Just an overview of each hotel:
Antiq is good and location is great.
Kendov Dvorec was wonderful.
Vila Bled is awesome - our room was the best. Heard a rumor that 207 has a ghost!
Hiša Franko is in a class of its own. Hard to describe to people - not luxurious, but splendid - especially the food.
Joan Brodnik

Glorious scenery, and canyoning is huge fun!
Isobel Lord
ŠerugaMy my - what a beautiful place. Šeruga: the price, food, welcome, kindess of the hosts, and location could not be faulted. Pristava Lepena took our breath away, and all the suggestions for ideas of what to do were great. White water rafting was brilliant, as was the riding.
Shirley Hiscock
TopliceWe loved Slovenia and Lake Bled. A good first introduction to Slovenia and we would go again and be a bit more adventurous! The Toplice was good too - staff, food and amenities were excellent.
Sue Furby
Dobra VilaSuperb holiday, as you can see from my comments everything was to our liking: staff, accommodation [Dobra Vila], location, superb.
Dennis West
BelicaMy husband's words for both - absolutely stunning.
I don't know if you remember, but our Slovenia stops were only stopovers on the way to and from Croatia by car. We also stayed in France, Austria and Germany. The food at both Slovenian hotels [Belica and Dobra Vila] was the best that we had anywhere in the fortnight we were away - and we didn't have a bad meal anywhere, so that is saying something. Dobra VilaThe staff were charming and friendly in both hotels. The scenery was fantastic at both, though with obvious differences in ambience.
Thank you very much for your help. We will certainly visit Slovenia again and will recommend both your agency and the country to friends.
Helen Burns
Vila BledVila Bled superb, we loved it just what we needed, on the deck with books and too hot? just a dip over to the Island. The fireworks and festival were the icing on the cake!
We ate at Hiša Franko - superb, food was fantastic and great help with a superb choice of wine - including a viewing of the cellar and address of Edi Simcic!
BelicaBelica was just the last word, we both loved it - the setting was fantastic, loved the proximity to Italy also - food and staff were really good and also ate at Toros (another vineyard just down the road) that was really really good. Loved the scenery and the pool was most welcome in the heat.
We had a fantastic holiday, my husband says the best (which is saying something, last year we did Thailand etc.). We will be going back to do more and can't tell enough people.
Thank you Bob, for sorting this - it worked fantastically well and we have recommended you to many.
Mary Healy
Belopeški DvoriHi Bob - Just a quick note to say a massive thank you! We all had a truly fantastic holiday. An overall great experience, good accommodation... [Šeruga and Belopeški Dvori] both were tidy and spacious, on the whole much better than what we were expecting in terms of rooms and facilities given the fantastic value for money.
Leigh Wright
Dobra VilaVery good holiday. Andreja and Sebastien looked after us and our dog very well. No complaints. Beautiful country. Great hotel [Dobra Vila] and very friendly people. Will consider going back next summer with friends.
Elliot Jalley
NebesaOnce again, Slovenia has delivered the goods. However, I must say that Slovene Dream has provided a fantastic service, and has played a very large part in organising a memorable honeymoon.
Nebesa was absolutely sublime, and no amount of prose or pictures can prepare you for the reality which is truly exceptional.
ŠerugaIf Nebesa is the best luxury Slovenia has to offer, then surely Seruga provides the biggest welcome. An incredibly good value place to stay, and a great platform from which to explore Slovene food, wine and tranquility.
Alasdair Sutherland
Vila ParkWow, what a beautiful country Slovenia is , so picturesque and so clean.
We had a great time at the Vila Park hotel, it is certainly situated in a great position and being able to walk from your doorstep is a big bonus... plus of course, it being a quality hotel to stay in.
AntiqWe had 5 nights lovely nights there before moving on to the hotel Antiq in the very heart of Ljubjana for 2 nights, a charming hotel with very helpfull staff, perfectly situated in the old town for cafes and resturants, one particularly great little resturant called Pri Škofu was so good, we went there twice, although in all honesty, we wanted to go to the resturant just up the street called Špajza but it was closed at the time we were there, but Pri Skofu was so good it did'nt really matter. Once again, thanks for all your help and if and when I hear anyone mention going to Slovenia, yourselves at slovenedream.com will be highly recommended.
John and Sally Barrett
Limbuš OazaGeraint George and his beautiful assistant Jelka were more than helpfull, even gave us a mobile phone installed with all important numbers. The apartment [Limbuš Oaza] was great.
Our lasting memory of Slovenia will allways be it's people.
Roy Hunter
Vila BledWe had a great holiday and liked Vila Bled a lot. We thought the food very good (though the chef has acquired 2 Michelin stars he was refreshingly free of the idiocies perpetrated these days in a lot of Michelin-starred restaurants) and the wine was excellent. The staff were very professional and friendly.
Jill Mann

Pristava LepenaLepena was fantastic place to stay – owners were lovely and happy to help, and room was great. Really liked the fact we had our own area outside to sit at and play cards.  The kittens were a fantastic added extra and the tennis court surely has the best view in the world. We enjoyed all our activities (rafting, paragliding, quad biking) and had some delicious meals (Hiša Franko was particularly fantastic, even for people used to London’s high quality restaurants).
Sarah Rose

Mons, LjubljanaI highly recommended Slovenia and will return soon. And I will book it through Slovene Dream again - everything went smoothly. [Hotels: Mons, Pristava Lepena, Antiq]
Kash Farooq
ŠerugaŠeruga. Awesome rural spot. Great hospitality, wonderful home cooking (first class) and comfortable rooms overlooking the trout stream. What a fun place to stay. Great value and a chance to try some of the local specialties, including of course, trout! Bread was made daily too. Fantastic.
Simon Walker

Hotel BohinjHi Bob
Our holiday in Slovenia was absolutely fantastic. My mother really enjoyed the Lakes and our choice of Lake Bohinj. The scenery was out of this world and on the whole we had reasonable weather. The end of the week was rainy but we managed to fit in everything we wanted to.
Thank you so much for recommending Hotel Bohinj. It was great. Staff and service were excellent and our 3 bedded room was lovely. Loads of room and very light and airy.
All in all a thoroughly enjoyable holiday and we ended our stay by visiting Venice for the day on Saturday. Could not believe the amount of people. What a contrast to Slovenia. We saw more people in Venice in one day than a whole week in Slovenia!!!!!
Once again thank you for your input.
Janice Pottage

Not a request so much as feedback - I think your website is excellent, love the properties you advertise, plus your descriptive style is spot-on. That's it really! Not often you come across a travel site that gets it right.
Nerys Roberts
ŠerugaLoved it we had an excellent time, Šeruga is fantastic and we could not fault it and we are currently recommending it to everyone.
Thanks for all your help you've been great.
Heather Slatter
NebesaHi Bob. Nice to hear from you. We had a wonderful time at Nebesa. It was everything your brochure had promised and more; Katja and Bojan were the perfect hosts and gave us lots of good information on walks etc. We were not sitting on top of a mountain for the week - we were walking up others! We will definitely be returning.
Ron Walker
Vila BledHi Bob, just back from Vila Bled, it was one of the best short breaks I have ever taken everything was first class, just one hitch sitting on the M25 for 2 hours on the way to the Airport, you can not fix everything just most things, I will remember my trip for a long time to come and will look back with very happy and special memories of a wonderful place and wonderful people. I will go back soon. Pat Mulock
Antiq, LjubljanaHotel Antiq was a fantastic hotel. The position was perfect and the staff lovely. We would definately go back again.
Rod McPheat
Beautiful country, great hotels, fun activities.
[Dobra Vila, Vila Bled],
Lesley Francis
Vila ParkSuperb holiday, excellent service from Slovene Dream. Top recommendation. Our hotel Vila Park was perfect in every way, breakfast was fantastic, and the hospitality was top notch. We hope to return to see it in the summer some time soon! Many Thanks.
Rob Lee
Hiša FrankoWe had such a fantastic time: the hotel [Hiša Franko] was fabulous, the food was amazing and the staff were first class. We would really like to go back there again. We're now planning to have a family holiday in Slovenia with our childen.
Patricia Hamill
Dobra VilaHad a fabulous time and largely due to the info found on your incredible website. If only I could find a website like that for all the places I travel to. Dobra Vila was fantastic. We loved every minute and felt like we were visiting old friends. We had an incredible meal and retired to the library for wine and dessert. lovely music playing. Have already recommended it to many friends. Car hire was great...very helpful staff and all restaurants we ate at were exactly as you had described. I would go back in a flash. Thankyou again.
Fiona Stillwell
AntiqHi Bob,
Many thanks for your help in sorting our holiday. Antiq was first class, the staff great and they're suggestions of good eating houses well thought through (Elvis across the road at Atrium knows his food).
We will certainly recommend anyone going to Slovenia to look at your site and give you a call. Best wishes
Sacha Grimsditch
NebesaIt was a wonderful, very memorable trip and I would like to personally thank you for your help organising it. Especially Nebesa... just amazing!
You may well hear from us again.
Grant Appleyard
Hi Bob
LieberJust a quick one to say sorry I haven't filled in the form yet, I've been stupidly busy with work and open uni stuff since I got back. I will try and fill this in over the next few days and send back to you but just to let you know, we had an absolutely FANTASTIC time! Slovenia far exceeded our expectations and all places that we stopped at were all so lovely in their individual ways.
Lieber was our first stop and was so friendly - the whole family came to wave us off when we left and we were really really touched.
Vila ParkNothing could have prepared us for Vila Park - I was not expecting the setting to be so outstanding or the quality of accommodation and food to be so high for the money we paid - Jana is an excellent host.
BelicaBelica - wow, it was like stopping in Tuscany!  Aside from the beautiful views, gorgeous rustic room, fantastic wine and friendly hosts, I would go back there tomorrow for their fresh bread and homemade jams!!!
ŠerugaŠeruga - Lili, husband and pets were like long lost relatives - so welcoming. Whilst we were stopping there, the local mayor and his German 'twin' plus dignitaries had come for the day to strip and prepare the corn.  Lili got us involved too and we had a wonderful day preparing the corn and taking part in traditional dancing. A lasting memory. Anyway, my so-called quick email has turned into an essay!!
Keely Willis
Antiq HotelHiya Bob,

Just a quick email to say thank you for all of your help in booking the holiday, we had an amazing time and we're already plotting when we can go back!! Everything was extraordinarily good and your restaurant recommendations were spot on. The hotels were fantastic and NebesaNebesa was more breathtakingly stunning than I imagined (although the mating deer outside were making some rather peculiar noises, they certainly didn't sound like they were enjoying themselves!) My other half had a brilliant birthday (helped along by the rather good Slovenian wine!) and everything went really smoothly...phew!

Really can't thank you enough for making our visit to this beautiful country brilliant, you're a diamond!
Lisa Ingleby
Pristava LepenaBob, just returned last night from travels thru Slovenia and Italy. Our time at Pristava Lepena was the highlight of the trip. A great place run by a wonderful couple.  Our experience more than met our expectations. Absolutely positive experience all around... from the booking to the end of the stay. Such a lovely place - people, accommodation, dining, scenery, hiking - it was hard to leave and continue on with our travels.
Beth MacConnell
Dobra VilaBob,
We had a fantastic holiday. We particularly enjoyed Dobra Villa, where both Sebastijans looked after us very well. The weather was gorgeous apart from the very last day when it poured down.
Slovenia is a beautiful country and we would certainly go back again. Thanks.
Liz Hesketh
Vila ParkThe holiday [Vila Park] was excellent, with brilliant walking.
The day of the floods caused major road disruption throughout the rest of the holiday, but everyone was most helpful and it certainly did not spoil it!
Many thanks.
Christine Rose
Antiq, LjubljanaWe had a great time in Slovenia. Ljubljana old town had a relaxing atmosphere where we felt safe and welcome. The hotel Antiq was ideally situated for a short break. We visited Lake Bled on bus/train, all the transport was good and we appreciated seeing some more of the countryside. Lake Bled and surroundings were delightful - we will be back to discover more. We had no idea how beautiful it was.

We certainly managed to chill out in our spaceous hotel room, which were fitted out to a high standard (if a little unusual in colour scheme). There was a pleasant unhurried feel about being in a small hotel - the staff were always very friendly and helpful.

Have already recommended this holiday to friends.

Thanks for all your help
Gillian Klinkert
Soča Valley hotelsBob
We had a great time. Thanks for your help suggesting where to stay [Hvala and Nebesa]. Both venues were lovely.
Thanks also for calling to check we were ok following the extreme weather.
Jean Richardson
ŠerugaA wonderful place to stay [Šeruga]. The staff were great in terms of accommodating our 2 children (age 3 and 1), they very kindly provided a 'children's tea' allowing us the luxury of eating evening meals alone as a couple .. a real treat! The nearby childrens' park (5 mins walk) and excellent swimming facilities a short drive away, plus numerous small animals on site, meant for a relaxing child-friendly time!
Overall we really enjoyed our holiday and would recommend Slovenia, Slovene Dream and definitely Šeruga... thank you very much!!
Lisa Fallon
Vila ParkJana was a great host what a lovely person, can not praise her enough she had a great part to play in us enjoying our stay at Vila Park so much. The food was tremendous & so cheap could not believe our food & drinks bill. Slovenian wine was realy great. Now looking for it in British supermarket.
[Don't bother Roy - it's not available... but it will be through our website soon! - Ed.]
Roy King
Vila ParkDear Bob, A first rate holiday. If we had to rank the two hotels I would put Vila Park as number one, I have never been in so clean and a comfortable hotel ever. We could not have been made more welcome by Jana and I would recommend half board, which we changed to for value and quality.
Dobra VilaDobra Vila was very attractive and again we were made very welcome. Andreja was most welcoming, we enjoyed the stay in Soca very much. I missed out on the canoying so a good excuse to return.
The car train was unmissable.
Thank you once again for the great recommendations and best of luck with your move to Slovenia.
Stephen Alexander
NebesaIn brief, we had an amazing time, Slovenia is truly fantastic, and heaven [Nebesa] in particular was great (beautifully, great people... Both Katja and Bojan were very kind and great people... and truly unique location), thank you again for pointing us in the right direction, we will definitely go back to Slovenia.
Peter Obdeijn
Thoroughly enjoyed it here [Vila Park], great scenery /walking and we were looked after very well.
Dobra VilaTotal contrast of style (in a good way) at Dobra Vila - really liked the hotel and the staff were very friendly, only minus was the dinner menu didnt change - but there were plenty of other places to eat. A highlight here was trekking up to the source of the Soča river (also went rafting and mountain biking which were very good).
The Antiq staff were very friendly and the position of the hotel excellent.
Overall an excellent holiday - many thanks and we are recommending Slovenia to all our friends. Also looking at the possibility of coming back to ski early next year.
Virginia Barratt
We had a fantastic time. Thank you to Slovene Dream for such in informative website that persuaded us to go in the first place. Will certainly return in the near future.
Liz Gale

A wonderful holiday, a great hotel [Hiša Franko], the staff were really friendly and helpful. I would like to return next year. Slovenia is breathtaking!
Juliette Treliving

Hiša FrankoI have got to say the food was superb and my wife raves about having a degustation menu in a remote town in Slovenia (not that anywhere in Slovenia is remote). Slovenia was every bit as good as you said it would be and we have recommended it to our friends as a place they must go.

Hi Bob,
Our holiday was very enjoyable. We had a great time.

AntiqAlthough we were only at the Antiq for one night, we were impressed with the hotel. The staff were very helpful and the hotel was very well kept. It was also ideally situated for exploring the city centre, and in particular, the older parts of town.

Vila ParkWe then moved on to Vila Park in Bohinj, after a day in Bled on the way. Vila Park is kept immaculately and it is situated in idyllic surroundings. We had a lovely room, and a balcony with mountain views. The standard of food was good, and there didn't appear to be a wealth of restaurants around the hotel. While in Bohinj, we especially enjoyed our trip up the Vogel cable car and some boating on the lake.

LieberThe Lieber was very nice and great value, although it is rather more basic than the Antiq and Vila Park. We were fairly unimpressed with the breakfasts, as by the time we made it down in the morning, a French family had managed to clear the buffet table [funny - it's usually Germans]!

The meal you arranged at Pri Danilu, which is a wonderful restaurant, was a very generous gesture and we were delighted with the food, wine and service. While staying at the Lieber, we explored Ljubljana some more, and had day trips to the Postojna caves and Piran. Both well worthwhile.

All in all, we had a great time, and would thoroughly recommend the country and 'Slovene Dream'.
Best regards, Richard Druce

We had a fantastic holiday and will definitely return to Slovenia.
BelicaThe journey from Marco Polo was very straightforward and the autostrada not nearly as unpleasant as most British motorways. Belica was less isolated than we had imagined but the views were lovely and the room extremely spacious and well appointed.. The pool is fabulous - well maintained and with a stunning panoramic view. The food was really excellent and the staff very helpful and friendly. The wine was particularly good and we were puzzled that they do not have an outlet in the UK. We have arranged to make an order via email.
NebesaNebesa - Its hard to know where to start. This really is everything described and more. Katja and Bojan are perfect hosts obviously enjoying what they describe as their hobby!!! The pictures cannot do justice either to the scenery/views or to the design and quality of the built environment. The attention to detail is impressive with the emphasis on understated good taste. The pool and wellness centre is fabulous and even though all cabins were occupied we always had this facility to ourselves. We were fairly stunned to learn that all produce from the cellar including wine from the barrel was included in the price - Bojan only too happy to help you himself.

Highlights must be: sipping wine on the balcony watching a thunderstorm 'below' in the valley; waking up and watching the cloud burn off the mountains; swimming before breakfast with a panorama of mountains around you; being engulfed by 2 adoring Newfoundlands... We can't think of anything other than better weather that could have made this place more idyllic.

The Vršič Pass and the Kobarid Museum are a must (it was fascinating to learn about the war on the Soča Front) and in good weather the cable car to Kanin. We also enjoyed the car train to Bohinj. From Belica we visited the Skocjan Caves which are fantastic but should have given Piran a miss.. We were impressed by the lack of crowds everywhere apart from the coast, the good use of english - even young girls on the checkouts in supermarkets conversed willingly and fluently...

It was a memorable holiday Bob and you have cured me (Gill) of my inbuilt distrust of tour operators - or in fact of anybody trying to sell a product. Well this product is sublime.. and you have no need to exaggerate .. lovene Dream deserves every success in the future. We hope to do business with you again very soon... Have you any suggestions for skiing either Feb or Easter??
Many thanks from 2 very satisfied customers.

ŠerugaFood was fantastic, staff were really friendly and very helpful, overall a great place to stay and would recommend to friends.

Bob
I just wanted to add my words of thanks and praise to my daughter Caroline's message to you earlier in the week.
We had a fantastic week in Slovenia which was very much enjoyed by the three of us. It is a part of Europe that until our visit we did not know much about. The opportunity to learn about a new country added to our enjoyment. The Slovenes are a lovely people and their country is rich in history as well as scenery. Our walks in the hills gave us a lot of insights into their incredible country.

Vila ParkOur stay at Jana's [Vila Park] was a high spot of the trip. She is a great host and her house is very comfortable and homely. The surprise to us was the excellent dinners she served us for 5 Euros! As Caroline says she should put the prices up for that high calibre cuisine. All of us would highly recommend her to other potential guests.

Hiša FrankoThe lunch degustation was another highlight. What a meal and again at a very reasonable price and again a restaurant we would recommend to anyone [Hiša Franko].

Your recommended tour on the car train and through the mountains was followed to the letter. Fascinating, exciting, exhilarating - all words that apply!!

Thank you for all your advice and help in making our holiday such a memorable experience.

Thanks again for all your help
We are 3 very satisfied customers!!
Regards, David Pumphrey

Wonderful experience and a beautiful country. Can't wait to go back. Triglav area was stunning.

The Hvala was nice, Vila Bled was wonderful. Thank you for all your help. The holiday was superb and we really want to go back!

HvalaGreat holiday. Loved Slovenia. Hvala was lovely. Very comfortable. Great breakfasts and good location. Would definately consider returning. Many thanks.
Helen Airdrie
[Hotel Bohinj] Very nice, very clean, very friendly!

Vila ParkWe absolutely loved our 4 nights in Vila Park near Lake Bohinj. The setting was perfect and the hotel was lovely. Jana was an incredible host and was so helpful with advice on the best things to do in the area.

The hotel itself was exactly what the surrounds demanded. The exterior is a typical Slovenian style villa and inside it is very comfortable and clean. I loved coming back to my room each night, which was modern and comfy. The downstairs rooms were lovely too, with nice big sofas to sit on after a long day of walking... bliss!

Our breakfast each morning was just right to start the day and the evening meals were truly delicious. We were horrified to discover that the 4 courses we were treated to each night only cost 5 euros!!! PLEASE tell Jana to put her prices up! Her wine selection is also excellent... we certainly could not find fault with her hospitality!

We really enjoyed exploring the area. We were pleased to have a car as it meant we could visit both Bohinj and Lake Bled from Vila Park. Some of the walks in the area are nothing short of spectacular and Jana did a great job on advising us of which ones to do.

Hiša FrankoThe day trip that Bob (Slovene Dream) [Yaaaaay - Ed.] suggested was an all round fantastic day. The car train from Bohinj through the mountains was an experience and we found Kobarid fascinating. The lunch at Hiša Franko was to die for and for 8 courses of world class cuisine was very reasonably priced. The drive after lunch back to Lake Bled revealled some speactacular countryside.

I have just re-read this and realised how many positive adjectives I have used. I do not consider these superflous as we really had a fantastic time thanks to Jana and Slovene Dream! I would highly recommend spending time at Vila Park... it was a stay I will never forget!
Caroline Pumphrey
AntiqBoth hotels were excellent. Antiq hotel in particular is in a superb location, and very atmospheric.
Andrew Dale
Dobra VilaWe really enjoyed our holiday in Dobra Villa in Bovec. Andreja  and her team were most welcoming and helpful. The hotel was very pleasant and the food was good. We would certainly recommend it. Many thanks.

NebesaNebesa fantastic... totally lived up to expectations. Katja and Bojan were perfect hosts - kept out of our way but there if you needed them. Loved the cellar with the ham and wine. Loved dinner at Hiša Franko.

OtočecFirstly a big thank you for arranging our stay at Grad Otočec. The castle/hotel itself exceeded expectations by a long way - our arrival late at night with the castle and grounds floodlit was quite magical, and we really could not believe the spacious suites we had been allocated (we thought we had merely booked double rooms but were not charged any more for the incredible amount of space we occupied). Our son's jaw dropped when he saw the entrance to his suite - genuine gothic stonework with a leather covered door - I think he thought he was in a Harry Potter film!
Meals in the courtyard were another highlight - great atmosphere and excellent food.

The surrounding countryside is very beautiful and visit to the Pleterjel monastery was worthwhile. We spent quite a lot of time just sitting by the river watching the abundant fish - very soothing. We also saw herons, dragonflies and wildlife too numerous to mention.
We are definitely considering visiting Slovenia again, and when we do will definitely call Slovene Dream for your recommendations!
Best wishes from Laura Luckhurst and family.

VitariumWe had an excellent holiday thanks Bob.
Everything was first class. our 11 year old daughter also had a good time as the pools are first class in the hotel [Vitarium].

Pristava LepenaPristava Lepena was superb - Sylvia and Milan were great and the setting was ideal both for us and our 12 and 14 year olds. There was enough for them to do at Pristava as well as around the area.
The views are exceptional and the B apartment was OK although we might go for an A2 apartment on another occasion. No hesitation in going back.

BelicaStephen Emery and Judy Drury didn't write: they both phoned us on Monday 13 August to tell us about their wonderful trips. I'm afraid I didn't write down all they said, but each of them talked for some time on the places they stayed in:
Judy Drury: Hotel Bohinj, Nebesa.
Stephen Emery: Vila Park, Dobra Vila, Belica, Antiq.

I'd like to thank both of them for taking the time to call: it made my day.

All of these places were fantastic:

Seruga - heaven. great place, very spacious, great food, great hosts.

Belica - beautiful rooms scenery, wine, food, swimming pool and view.

Dobra Vila - top notch especially room 2001.

Vila Park - lovely little place, opted for half board and didnt regret it, location was superb

Pristava LepenaPristava Lepena is a beautiful place, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time spent there. It was very relaxing, and the staff and owners were very accomodating, friendly people. The activities on offer at Pristava Lepena are exactly as advertised, and are very easy to book and enjoy.
The service provided by Slovene Dream was excellent, and I cannot fault you!
Thank you very much for this opportunity, and I wish you every luck in the future!

Hotel BohinjHello Bob, thanks ever so much for your help in organising our trip and also your recommendations [Hotel Bohinj and Hiša Franko]. We had a wonderful time and love Slovenia. We'll definitely go back - there are so many other areas we'd like to explore and we were fairly limited with walking/caves etc having a little one - though we still did a lot.
Hiša FrankoI'll be recommending Slovenia and Slovene Dream to friends and family - we feel like we've discovered a bit of a secret. Hope to go back out there in the winter to see some snow and frozen lakes.

BelicaHi Bob... our second trip to Slovenia - the first being last year and it just gets better and better! Our first stop of this trip was Belica - magical. The staff were all so friendly and helpful - I know your website stresses Belica is a working vineyard and not a hotel - we found absolutely nothing lacking in the service and attention to detail and were really impressed. The cleanliness was first class - I don't think we have ever stayed ANYWHERE so clean! The food was superb - we ate EVERY meal there - outdoors in the sunshine for lunch and again for a leisurely evening dinner. The swimming pool perched atop of that wonderful view, endless miles of rolling hills and vineyards... Belica is truly our Heaven on earth.
We were genuinely sorry to be leaving Belica and, as you know, a bit apprehensive of moving on to Ljubljana. We women don't say this to many men but.. you were right! Antiq HotelLjubljana is indeed a city like no other. We are not city people but we loved the place. Antiq Hotel is perfectly situated - literally out the door and you're in town. The Antiq is a lovely hotel, beautifully furnished but a wee bit quirky, The garden at the back was a surprise and a BIG bonus for us. Staff were most helpful, as were the owners. What a city Ljubljana is for nights... wine, coffees, ice creams, candlelit tables outdoors, friendly chatter all around... and the shops!!!!
With thanks for all your help in our bookings. For us it's 'thumbs up' all the way!
Jonathan and Linda Sloan
Hiša FrankoDear Bob, we are back and we had a great time in Slovenia as you predicted. We wish we could have stayed a week longer! The weather got very nice towards the end of the holiday and we tried to bring it back with us, but with not much success :-)
The hotel [Hiša Franko] was brilliant, we could not find any fault. The staff was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The hotel was clean, modern and the food was excellent.
Marta Foster
No gripes, great honeymoon! [Nebesa and Antiq]
Ralph Mercer
ŠerugaŠeruga far exceeded my expectation of accomodation and food. The farm was exceptionally well maintained, the bedroom/bathroom and all reception rooms were very clean. The food was delicious and well presented. Lilli and Eva provided first class accommodation.
Jackie and Will Gibson
Dobra VilaThanks for all your help planning our holiday. We had an amazing time and can't recommend Slovenia highly enough! We were pleased with all the hotels. The service at Dobra Vila had to be experienced to be believed, it was excellent.
ŠerugaŠeruga was so much better than anything we expected, beautiful accommodation at a ridiculously low price. Antiq was certainly quirky, hotel and gardens were very pretty, probably the best in the city. We were equally delighted with the areas we visited. Incredibly scenic with plenty of wonderful cafes and restaurants in Ljubljana especially. Thanks again!
Kate Foley
Topli Val at the Hvala HotelThe Hvala is better than I'd expected inside and may have been recently refurbished. It was certainly better than the "budget" status mentioned in your website [gone now - Ed.]. There is what looks like a new lift which saves a bit of leg work. The staff were helpful and the very friendly.
[Topli Val restaurant] This was simply superb. Efficient and charming service, a very knowledgable head waiter who was able to recommend ideal wines to match the food and our tastes, staggeringly good food in generous portions, and of course wine which makes most other countries offerings taste bland. And all at prices that are still remarkably cheap compared to Britain.
Bill Marshall
ŠerugaLilly, family, pets and farm were wonderful [at Šeruga]. IMHO, that was my favorite place of our five lodgings, and--had I known how lovely l it would be--would have tried to stay longer.  Alas, we both had to return to work.  Specifics:  your description of rooms, hosts, and locale were very accurate, except maybe they weren't positive enough [I'll work on it - Ed.]. Room was large, softly lit, beautifully decorated.  Sheets were soft, not perfumed, thank heavens.  Hostess Lilly was charming and helpful.  Oh yes, and finally, the welcoming cats and dog were a big deal.  I don't think that I've recently seen my husband as happy and relaxed as he was for the two days that we were there.
Sarah Tilevitz
RivieraWe had a phenomenal time at all the hotels we stayed at. The Vila Bled was very charming, the restaurant was delicious, and the 1950's charm of the hotel made for an enjoyable stay. The Antiq hotel was perfectly located and had an excellent ambience. Lastly the Riveria was in a perfect location and we really enjoyed the spas of the hotel. THe whole holiday was fantastic and thank you for your hotel reccommendations as we were very pleased with all hotels, the friendly staff, and the tasty food in each place we stayed!
Sarah Webb
NebesaThis was the best holiday ever! No doubt many people say things like this but we have travelled far and wide and Nebesa was fantastic. We were spoilt rotten by Bojan and Katia--they were absolutely delightful.
Mary Smith
Nebesa - dogletsDear Bob
One question is still unanswered in my mind. Do i tell everyone what a wonderful holiday Andrew and myself had in Sloveneia or do i keep quiet about the gems we found particularly Nebesa? what a jewel. With many thanks and wonderful memories.
Putzi
We had a fantastic holiday in a lovely country with on the whole very friendly people and lots of good food.
Katherine Liston
Nebesa[Nebesa] What a brilliant place!!! Such kind hosts and made us feel so welcome. They were there when we needed them and not when we didn't. The set up was perfect, especially the leisure facilities and the food arrangements. Had the weather been bad we could have holed up there for all 4 nights, but as the weather was gorgeous we took advantage of the fantastic walks in the area. We also ate at Hisa Franko one evening and that was also a real treat.
We really didn't want to come home.
Sandra Curry
TopliceHi, Slovenia was beautiful [Hotel Toplice]. We had a great time and what impressed us so much about Lake Bled was:

1. How beautiful it was
2. How clean and safe it was
3. How friendly people were
4. How cheap it was to eat, dine out etc.

We will definetly go back again and book through Slovenedream. Our next trip will be to the capital in September

Your product and service is excellent and we will certainly recommend you. Nicola Tynan
Vila ParkWe only stayed in Vila Park, which was excellent, as we weren't sure where else we'd be. We took your brochure and would have stayed elsewhere but because there are no hotel addresses and telephone numbers we couldn't do that whilst we were in the country which was a pity as we'd have liked to tried some of your recommendations. - Which is why we try to get you all to trust us in the first place, instead of going off willy-nilly on your own! - Ed (that is, Bob... but Ed is a good mate).
Hiša FrankoWe loved Slovenia! What a beautiful country.
Hiša Franko was a fantastic hotel. The room was delightful, the staff helpful and the food was exquisite.
Hotel BohinjHotel Bohinj is surrounded by stunning scenery. We could've stayed there for ever. The rooms in the hotel were spacious are airy. The staff were very friendly.
Jacynth Grundy
Vila ParkVila Park and Dobra Vila were amazing, attention to detail and consideration of the staff was wonderful. Beautiful hotels, clean with a real feeling of 'special'.

We are planning to return as soon as possible to this delightful country. We were awed by the beauty and spoilt by the Slovenians.

Dobra VilaSlovene Dream has been central to our enjoyment of this holiday thank you so much.
Caroline Phipps
NebesaBojan and Katja made our holiday at Nebesa the best. They gave us just the right amount of attention - helped us and assisted without intruding on our space.
We will definitely go back and visit (probably in the summer) to see the view in a different season (we'd love to see it all year round!) Its truly incredible.
