There's so much to do in Ljubljana - galleries, museums, theatres, opera, festivals. In the summer you might see a full opera performed in the street (as we did in '06 - The Marriage of Figaro), or see a new art show - or an exhibition of beautiful glass pieces (us again - same evening).
Note that Slovenians tend not to book in advance, if at all. One afternoon, while sauntering through some exquisite cakes at Zvezda, we saw a poster proclaiming that Magnifico would be playing at Cankerjev Dom that very evening (let's say, Prince at the RFH). That evening, we sauntered into the box office and purchased two tickets - stalls, second row. And it was packed. Funny bunch, the Slovenes.
